Should I try to be as mainstream as possible?

Besides pushing for "#Beautiful" and "Losing You" (which was very luckily released a day past the cutoff!) to sweep anything and everything it is eligible for, my other choices are a scattered mess at the moment.

Expect a HUGE FYC post from me soon.

EDIT: Pretend "Everything is Embarrassing" was listed alongside the two best songs of late 2012-2013. This, Mariah, Solange and MSK are four of my choices for both ROTY/SOTY with Disclosure and Miranda Lambert closing in each category respectively.

EDIT 2: WAIT!!! I almost forgot about VAMPIRE WEEKEND.

I don't know whether to submit Lana for pop or rock Clearly her music is more pop, BUT she'd have a better chance of winning in rock.


And don't even say that L3GEND isn't rock, because billboard says she is!

Feel free to be as mainstream or indie as you'd like.

The advantage of this voting system, however, is that strong support from just a few voters could allow some quirkier choices to at least make the longlists.

I guess Lana is sort of alternative, but the Grammys unfortunately only have an album category for that genre. So just take her songs on a case-by-case basis. Maybe you can submit one to pop and another to rock.

Also, I'd like to reiterate August's support for MKS. "Flatline" for ROTY!

Rock.

The style of the music is primarily Rock but the sound is POPular - there is a difference.

I am not familiar enough with the music eligible for certain categories, such as those country ones. I have only heard one country album in 2013.

Exactly! Just submit in the categories you feel comfortable with. Though all the genre fields could probably use more love.
