That's easy for someone to say if they've never been raped, would it be funny for someone to joke about AIDS if you had AIDS? Would it be funny for someone to joke about cancer if someone close to you had died of cancer? These topics are not joke worthy, if someone wanted to raise awareness for a subject they could promote it, make informative posters, they could make documentaries about it etc etc.
Humour is not used to promote potentially lethal diseases or situations, humour is used socially when you're having a good time with your friends.
