Eh, well, that still doesn't mean you can eat whatever you want. 60% of a healthy body is a diet.
With that said, this was a one-time deal. I was SO hungry! I haven't had cheetos with cheese in FOREVER.
I'm also a lot older so my metabolism isn't as fast as yours

Last night I ate 3 freddo frogs, a kit kat & a packet of crackers after coming home from work. I felt so bad I danced for at least 30mins and did around 60 push-ups.

I did play Tennis at my school, but the season was so short, and it rained a lot so I don't think it benefitted me in that way, but I plan on playing with friends this summer! I also enjoy swimming!
This does make sense. Thank You for the tips . I really feel more dedicated this time to exercising more, so I really hope this works for me. I will definitely come to you if I need more tips

p90x 6 days a week, sometimes running on Sunday. No fast food, no sweets, no sodas, and no snacks (I've cheated a few times with sweets and snacks though). I'm kind of surprised I stuck with it but the results have been really great.

- push-ups (keeping the back straight and legs together)
- sit-ups (strengthening the core)
- 20-30 reps with light dumbells. (works biceps and fore-arms)
- light boxing
- skipping (great for fitness)
- pull ups
- swimming is a fantastic all over body excercise. Great for cardio, endurance and general toning.
- running will tone your legs and greatly improve you fitness levels. Walking is better for starters though. Push yourself to improve your time/speed each time.
Just make sure you're pushing yourself each time you work out because we're aiming to tear as much muscle as possible to encourage maximum re-growth.
Why not try joining a gym? Gym's have all the equipment you need to reach your weight goals. In addition, there are plenty of professionals with the knowledge in mind to help you with any questions you may have.

Thank you so much! I actually love swimming. I swim almost everyday in the summer (Pool in backyard) so I think I should just try to keep that up. Throwing a jog in there every once in a while sounds like fun as well. At this point in my life joining a gym is not really an option because I'm 15 without a job or car or anything like that.

Whoo--I just ran for 2 and a half miles! I'm exhausted! I really want a bowl of ice cream, but I am trying to skip it as much as I can in order to get shed the weight faster.

You are a saint! When I did Tennis a couple months ago we did p90x about 3-4 times, and I was about ready to shoot myself in the face.

That's great. How long did it take you to run? How often do you run?

Lol thanks. It's ****ing hard. Do you remember which workouts you did? Some are "easier" than others, so it becomes tolerable. You begin to look forward to certain days because they aren't as intense as others.

Well I ran around a track that's about 3 minutes from my house. I ran four laps, took a short break, three laps, took a short break, two laps, took another short break, and then took another short break.
I was running kind of fast, but I wasn't really paying attention to time... I want to say it took me about 35-45 minutes? I'll time myself next time...
And we did p90x that involved stretches, and doing these punches and stuff. Haha, I'm not quite sure which ones they were... If you can figure out what we did based on my description...

I really need to get back into lifting weights, cause I really have wanted to bulk up for a long time. But lately to stay active I've been doing a lot of 10-15 mile bike rides. Gives me something to do lately.

That's actually supposed to be better for your heart, if I'm not mistaken (someone correct me if I'm wrong). Making it work, then letting it rest, then making it work again, then letting it rest, etc. is really good.
I ran 2 miles like three weeks ago and it took me a little over 18 minutes. I would like it to be lower but I'll take it considering I couldn't even run for 3 or 4 minutes just 7 months ago.

The punches one is Kenpo. The stretching may have just been the Stretch dvd. Kenpo is one of the "easy" ones, at least IMO. The first two times were difficult for me, though.

Does anyone else constantly feel tired even when they get enough sleep and do they know of something that may fix that. My family has a condition with thyroid problems which makes you feel sluggish and drowzy so I feel I may have that.

I'm so glad we have this thread! It's great support for me and many others online while exercising, and several resources to get advice from Let's try to keep this going!

If you do lose the 2 pounds per week or so, it's pounds you will be able to keep off for life. Fast weight loss will creep back the SECOND you stop exercising/dieting.
Dieting doesn't work because it's not a start to finish type of thing. Once you reach your desired weight, you don't just say "okay, I'm done." In order to maintain that shape, you have to maintain the diet FOREVER. Before you guys go off on diets, ask if you really want to commit to this for life.
|
Thanks for this. I've worked it out to where I will be running constantly all year, but I need to get a diet in place. I don't want to completely cut out my ice cream and snacks, but I want to get into a routine where I don't pig out them. Does anybody do cheat days? Does it work?

Well that's great, if it's good for my heart! It makes me feel good that I was doing something right
I think 18 minutes is fine for you. When I did track at my school a year ago I ran the mile, and I started with a time of minutes and 36 seconds and by my last meet, I had a time of doing 5 minutes and 57 seconds.
But now that you say 18 minutes I might have been faster... I stopped and talked to some people along the way so I'm not sure. I just usually want to go out running for about 30 minutes at a time in order to get the exercise I need.
And lol at me struggling at the easy one. I think those are just not for me, but I have seen them work for a few of my friends. Running is more of my thing anyway.

That's insane I would love to be able to run a mile that quick. The fastest I ever got was 7 minutes when I was 14.

Well, I struggled a lot at first too. If you're not used to them, you're gonna struggle. I still can't finish some of them - they don't get any easier. But yeah, if running works for you, you should stick with that. I like running and I miss it. It's fun to get absorbed in your Ipod for a while and release some energy.

I finished second to last (really close to third to last though) which was the insane thing! I don't know how some people were able to run the mile in 5 and a half minutes! I think my heart would stop working.
And yes I love getting absorbed into my iPod and just moving to the music. It's great. Although it sucks when it days like today. Running in 88 degree weather is not ideal!

Wow. Yeah, I was dying when I ran 2 miles in 18. Like huffing and puffing. 5 and a half minutes...
I hear you. It's so ****ing hot here. It hasn't been below 90 degrees in weeks. I like running in the winter when it's colder. Perfect.
