Brodus Clay as the new Godfather
But it's nice that there's some monster sized wrestler who's not packaged as someone who's arrived to destroy the entire locker room.
Jericho should win the Rumble and face CM Punk on Wrestlemania
I don't think they'll start the Jericho-Punk feud, as rumors have been saying all along, too early since Punk has some sort of thing with Ziggler right now.

They need to call up Dean Ambrose to take his place please.

Modern pro wrestling is pretty dull. Vince going PG made it less interesting on top of his watered down matches, if there are any more than 3-4 in 2 hours.
TNA is slightly better, but not much.
If you really want pro wrestling catch a Ring of Honor show. They have a late night slot on Saturday nights.

TNA is the biggest joke of them all. WWE can at least put together a decent storyline every so often, along with some nice wrestling as well. TNA has similar quality wrestling (or better, in some cases), but they can not put together a fully realized and competent storyline without screwing it up somehow. It's just impossible for them not to screw a good thing up.
Then again, maybe I'm not the right person to talk to about good wrestling, as I'm a huge fan of both the Funkasaurus and "Mr. Excitement" John Laurinaitis.

Another thing, Funkararus maybe the worst gimmick I have ever seen. but I cant seem to get Somebody Call My Momma out of my head.... it's embarrassing.

I love the new Brodus Clay gimmick. He is funny as hell, especially WHILE he's wrestling. "Ma Bad!" "Suplex!"

I agree 100% on Brodus Clay. I hate generic big guy heels, which is what he used to be.
Punk vs. Jericho would be good but I want to see Undertaker vs. Jericho.

You have good taste. I love Mr. Excitement and Brodus Clay!
However I disagree with you about TNA. I think it's getting better and up until last Monday I thought it was better than WWE.
I'll even go so far as to say that the MVP in 2012 so far has not NOT been CM Punk, it's been Bobby Roode!

I'm grateful to have found this thread before I broke one open. I think it's great finding that there are others outside of my accustomed domain that have some in-depth knowledge of the business, and can thoroughly enjoy it. I think professional wrestling is a great competitive sport, and I've been following for quite some time now. .With hope, this thread can remain fairly active.

Like I said, my problem with TNA isn't the wrestling itself. It's how they can never sustain momentum or produce a fully-realized storyline without screwing it up somehow. Case in point: your 2012 MVP, Bobby Roode and his title quest. WWE runs that angle, Roode wins the belt at BFG and gets made as THE top star of the company. Impact runs that angle, Roode loses to Angle at BFG, Storm beats Angle instead on Impact, and Roode then turns heel and beats Storm on another Impact. Two title changes on TV, and not one at their biggest PPV of the year. It was a terrible roundabout way to get to the correct conclusion. Roode has been great (as he's both great at being a good guy or a bad guy) as the champ, but he should have won the title from Angle to begin with. If you wanted to turn him after winning the belt, fine. But he should have won it the first time.
If nothing else, though, they have arguably the two best champions in wrestling right now: Bobby Roode as their World Champ and Austin Aries as the X Division Champ (and I would go as far to say that Aries is the single best champ in wrestling right now).

I think it's great that they've been brought up to network syndication. On par of 'pure' wrestling vs. "sports entertainment", ROH manages to shine. The problem with its workers are that they're almost completely devoid of charisma and can't work a mic, never mind the in-ring skills. Roderick Strong is one of my favorite wrestlers right now, but he has some of the worst mic skills in the business today. His promos are so unintentionally funny, it's sad.

Damn, the Divas Division is completely suffering this year.
I mean -- before it was worse, but at least they got 4 or 5 minutes. Now they barely get minute for their matches.
I'm so frustrated with WWE and their lack of care or consideration for their Divas.
I'm glad we have NXT though. Maxine is my girl.

Agreed.
In terms of the girls who came out of NXT, though, I have to say:
AJ >> Maxine >> Naomi >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Kaitlyn ( )

They were well on their way to finally making the Divas division mean something again, but then Kharma got pregnant and pretty much flushed their long-term plans down the toilet. Sure, we did get Beth and Natalya out of it, but, really, Beth Phoenix is losing to ALICIA FOX now. Let's be realistic.

The problem with ROH is that, while a lot of their wrestlers are great wrestlers, they're not great entertainers. For every CM Punk, there are ten Roderick Strongs. Their top guy is almost as devoid of charisma as Roderick.
That brings me to something that I just thought about thanks to this post: In order to make it to the WWE and then succeed, you have to have two of the following three qualities: You have to be good at wrestling, you have to have a good look, and/or you have to be entertaining. In that order. Have only one of those qualities, and, at best, you're looking at having the careers of Shelton Benjamin, Chris Masters or The Godfather. Sure, they were all relatively successful, but were they ever on the level of guys like John Cena, Randy Orton, Steve Austin or The Rock? Of course not. That's about as far as most of the current crop of Ring of Honor wrestlers can go. Chris Hero would be one of the few that could pull it off, but he can't ever seem to catch a break, sadly.

Don't forget Natalya's losing streak. She's the "Drew Mcintyre" of the Divas divsion.
Pretty much. But -- I love Alicia Fox. She's actually a decent wrestler. Needs to be more precise with her moves though. But, that doesn't mean they couldn't come up with a good storyline while Kharma was away. I swear the writers are just lazy. They just don't give a damn about them.
They could of did something epic with Divas Of Doom. They had something going on there -- but with the inconsistency and everything. It was just a hot mess. And now I have no idea what's going on.

To be fair, it almost seemed as if they were putting some effort into rebuilding the division, again. The "DOD" shtick had so much potential, it's almost heart-wrenching looking back at how it was executed. Granted, it gave us some of the best Divas matches in quite some time. Beth vs. Kelly Kelly (NoC)/Eve (Vengeance) were both gems in their own right, and the butterfly actually began to gain at least a pinch of credibility.
The problem with the women's division in the 'E is that the fans haven't an interest because the WWE doesn't work with the Divas, and WWE doesn't work with the Divas because the fans haven't an interest. It's a vicious cycle that can evoke the potential death of the division.

...which, in actuality, really is a fallible, though effective, recipe for success. In all fairness to Chris Masters, though, the guy became a great talent by the time they brought him back: his look was terrific, and he could go in the ring. Two out of three just wasn't enough for him to catch a break.
My thoughts on Hero mirrors those of Bourne; incredible talent, loads of potential, but screwed himself out with his own personal faults. A bit of shame since he, along with Castagnoli, had been pioneering for a break-way into the WWE for quite some time. Maybe he'll get another shot, though it won't be anytime too soon. The IWC collectively facepalmed---KoW was supposed to revitalize the tag team division.

You have to remember that Roode god injured so they probably had to rush the title to Storm (shame they could have built Storm better before the title - but the injury ****ed everything up regarding that storyline) because Roode had to take a little break from injury. If he didn't the storyline wouldn't have been a mess.
It really looks like as if they don't care about the Tag Division or the Divas Divison though. I mean, Epico/Primo won the titles at the house show - shows much how they care. They really don't have many good tag teams left. Natyala and Beth Pheonix getting jobbed out is just wrong.
I find Austin Aries and Rodrieck Strong awesome - I wish they'd be in the WWE but the WWE would treat them as jobbers.
