just in general, i hate education

Sorry, I hate to pry. But why pursue an education if you hate it so much? I mean, I don't know why people would do that if they don't like the aspect of education.

What kind of university does that? I mean, shouldn't university be about growing up, gaining responsibility. That's how they treat children

They just don't think you deserve to do well if you don't show up. They aren't forcing you to show up. Noones gonna come find you if you don't. I think what they do is fair. It's not fair to those who do show up every class. It's part of your participation grade.

I would agree, but you can't really get a great job without higher education now a days.

If we miss more than 4 classes, that ass is dropped.

I know for high school I was doing at least 8 DIFFERENT subjects. That's a lot to work for, especially when you have exams for all of them within the same two week period.
There's some courses which is coursework/just assignments with no exams but they're rare -- but these are the easiest, the rest are just

Are you talking about Standard Grades? I remember sitting mines, they were annoying
Although, I have to say that university/college is harder, well for me, I have so much to learn in a short matter of weeks

I don't know if you misunderstood what I said but I agree with you, no subject is just formulas outside of school and usually once you step into more complicated topics in your courses. I'm not trying to say anything contrary to your argument, lol.

This is same with us too. Except it's more about the assignments and labs. If you miss x amount, then you're dropped.

I agree. If we think about it, Math IS THE language of the universe.

My brother doesn't have post-secondary education, he is a manager at a store and gets paid $30+. I guess I have a problem with it because I'm one of those people who have an undying love for education, so I am extremely bias in this discussion. However, the sociological part of seeking a higher education really interests me; the fact that a paper depicts your intelligence is a load of crap to me.

It all depends on how hard your major is, and the quality of your high school education.
A high school with decent teachers can be harder than like a Sociology degree at a bad university. But if you compare a high school with like a Math, Engineering, or just about any other science major at a semi decent college and it's not even close. Especially once you reach the actual 3000 and 4000, 3rd and 4th year courses in your major.
With that said I find the way college classes work procedure wise to be much easier than high school. In college you never have busy, ******** work, and you get to do things at your own pace as long as you meet the final deadline, so you feel less micromanaged. Plus in college you are focusing on what you want to eventually do everyday with your life, so everything feels more meaningful than high school.

Hell, if you miss more than two classes here, it's an automatic 'F'

I beg to differ, we can't simply state that math is the language of the universe. It's not that linear.

Mines is like that as well, if your attendance for a class falls below 80% you're not allowed to sit an exam. It makes people take uni/college seriously in my opinion

It is. Physics is based on math, Biology is based on math, everything is based on math.
If there's one way for us to completely communicate with aliens, then Math is the language to use.
