He should be talking about the child abuse going on in catholic churches first, and keep ******** opinions on gay couples adopting to himself until after he's dealt with that.
Gay people adopting children is child abuse...but straight people who cant take care of the child and have to put it up for those gay people are doing what to the child?
Churches should start preaching about love and equality of all SEXES, RACES and GENDER.
I still respect his opinion but gay people have every right to adopt a child that straight people put up for adoption and throw them FANTASTIC PARTIES.
Studies show children of same-sex parents generally do just as well as children raised by heterosexual parents. And don't even get me started on the church
what i've learned through my complicated relationship with God is that you can choose to believe in him but under your "conditions" or more like under what you feel fits what you picture God to be like. Believe that he is a powerful source of love, forgiving, none-judgmental etc if thats what will make you happy! in my opinion religion is there to guide you and help you. not to put you down or make you feel like your absolutely worthless or disgusting. When ppl quote me lines in the bible that are controversial/negative I just choose to pick that out and stop them right there I say well maybe this was a fake passage. maybe someone wrote that and it wasnt God's word. maybe it has another meaning and then i try to take out the good in it and if there is no good in it then i choose to believe that it isnt true or that that verse got tampored with. because to me having a relationship with God is so important that I can't give up on it at all.
religion is a choice, and should forever be a choice. don't ever let anyone make you believe that it is forced upon you or that you cannot question it.

exactly, it's quite amazing how gay people adopting children to give them a better life is deemed child abuse to him, but the people who put them there are completely overlooked.
I don't think that taking kids out of a bad situation into a non-traditional home can be considered Child abuse..
This is very disappointing in light of the supposedly non-judgmental comments that he had made not long ago.
I wonder if this sudden statement/change of stance is in any way related to the meeting that he had earlier in the day with Obama? Maybe some decrepit old bishops pressured him into saying this coz they think that he is making too many concessions to a nation that is not primarily Catholic and where a few states allow gay unions to take place. Not justifying him in any way, just wondering.
In Australia, child abuse is generally describe as "The physical maltreatment, neglect or sexual molestation of a child", this this pisses me off quite a bit
Does he not realize that kids that are adopted by gay couples are GENUINELY wanted? In what world is it okay to let that child live without love, life and education? Those types of people like the Pope are NEVER about the children; it's always about their twisted homophobic agenda more than anything else.

He is set in his ways, we cannot change him but we can love him and hope he comes into this century. He has made some steps for the gay community so that is nice but he really needs to understand that if I become a carrier of a gay couples child he will be the last person on my mind.

hateful comments by ppl like this pope are nothing but a reflection of what they believe God is like. so in a sense its as if they are insulting God and saying he is hateful and angry.
thats my take on this type of stuff ahha
What kind of beautiful essay Like the tea is ****ing burning my mouth right now
It is silly how many of you get upset over the words of a cult leader. His words have no power over you, just roll your eyes and move on. The Catholic Church has always been hypocritical.
