Y'all pointing out random examples of bad predictions like Teenage Dream and completely ignoring the fact that Taylor has done it TWICE now. There is reason to believe she will do it again. Please, don't compare her album sales to Katy's.
People using these projections and past actual debuts is pointless because instead of trending downwards like everyone else, Taylor has OUTPERFORMED her predictions by about 200k-300k.
Regardless of whether she sells a milli or not, she'll still be outselling everyone else (barring Adele if she springs her release).
I think that she's going to do Eminem numbers this time. 600k-800k is my estimation but I would love to see someone else besides Adele come for 1mill, because I think atm Adele and Taylor are the only ones who we could expect that from on the female pop side.
Taylor is probably gonna get the 1Mill in her first week again, I wouldn't be surprised. She deserves it. I'm completely floored by Kendrick and Wayne.
Executives at other major labels say they expected Perry's sophomore album to debut with sales of anywhere from 300,000 to 700,000 units, with most figuring the album would scan about 400,000.
I don't see how 1D could pull 550k when they got to 546k with MM during Black Friday week and when BSE had a better chart run than what SMG is currently doing.
