princedonte is a mess most of the time but this doesn't really disprove his argument considering the controversy she already had with the single cover.
Please reread what you wrote because a damn picture that someone can find anywhere on the internet did not cause this song to go #1, the song itself did.
I don't think she's desperate to "snatch her crown back". She doesn't need to. Apparently some of the media/GP is under some grandiose delusion that Iggy has surpassed Nicki within less than 6 months all because of one hit. This is not true. Iggy's actual fanbase size and list of accomplishments is a fraction of Nicki's. Nicki has been a huge rapper for years and has worked up to where she is, and Iggy needs to prove longevity and work up her name further. Just because Fancy did something a Nicki single hasn't done yet does not mean what Nicki did means nothing and what Iggy has done means everything.
And as for him bringing up Meghan Trainor, implying she's a rapper and has surpassed Nicki... lol.
Anyway, as a fan of a Nicki, I'm willing to admit I think Anaconda is a terrible song that really lacks any decent lyrical content. I get that she was going for a "fun" song... but the song is repetitive and overall poorly executed. It's disappointing after Pills N Potions was so excellent to me (and criminally underrated).
The video didn't shock me because it was exactly what I expected. I'm sure Nicki was going for controversial and unapologetic visuals, and it worked extremely well, so I can't hate her for that. I'm sure she is loving people in the media giving it attention like this.
As with everything Nicki does, she holds a mirror up to society, and amazingly, american society doesn't like what it sees and uses her as the point they can tear down. Sexuality is completely pervasive in our culture and its only acceptable when its a guy "ooh take that shirt off, gun show, etc..." but when a woman does, its vile and desperate. SHOCKER. If a guy made a video like anaconda it would be aired on tv and there would be so many laughs etc.
So you don't claim he cause he don't like this video. You are a whack this is a man who has done something and yet you denounce him all cause he don't like a video. Damn y'all are nothing but sheep.
I will say any type of faux outrage like this seems semi sexist. Males release videos with girls that move like those in the Anaconda video all the time. To me, the Anaconda video is no different than those. Nicki just went all out with the concept and chose to make it the focus.

Not when Blurred Lines ruined Robin Thicke's career.

True. If someone like Zac Efron goes shirtless live at an award show, it's met with little criticism.
