It's not making things worse at all. She's getting great public exposure and she really needed it. A lot of people still thought Britney was bald/crazy/etc. And Britney's not rumoured to release music any time soon so there will be a lot of hype with her upcoming album. Plus, with the X Factor going on, she can gain her fans back from the hill billy states... so that's a +

And there are still many mysteries with Britney. Again, the X Factor is just proving that she is doing great as a well being.

it's good that she is doing great as a human being, but I cannot see that translating into her having even half the charisma or dancing ability she once had (ironically, the x factor). She may have some more fairly successful singles but that's about it.
