I mean, look:
When I say that you become Jewish, Christian, etc, I don't mean that you become devout. Because without strict moderation, people do naturally move away from their traditions. A lot of Christians today are very loosely tied to religion.
Rational thinking, if anything, would eventually lead people to Agnosticism. But that false dichotomy of Science vs. Religion is just too present to come to that conclusion.
