This poster also sums up a lot of my feelings about the Lady Gaga hype in 2009.

It was, to be honest, utterly bizarre to me how after she released 1 song (which seemed very generic when it first came out) and the media were acting like she was a pop icon that had been around for 20 years. It was really annoying. I could've lived with it if she had released something like Rolling in the Deep as her first single. But Just Dance, it's gonna be okay (sang over the Maneater instrumental). Really?

Dance/Pop is IT, the song features background vocals from Akon, it's catchy as ****, the beginning is a reminiscent of MIM's "This is why I'm hot". It has #1 written all over it. Not to mention Lady Gaga was born as a legend. Americans are just slow and they need time to comprehend brilliance.

Timbaland and Lil Jon brought back electropop and dance music. Again, you are a Lady Gaga fan that doesn't seem to have been listening to chart music before she got popular.

THANK YOU. I've been listening heavily to mainstream music for almost 10 years now. It's true that there was a point where dance-pop music was nowhere, but it wasn't Lady Gaga that brought it back. It started coming back around 2005/2006 time. It led on from the crunk explosion.
