Desert rock isn't an obscure genre and most of UV's reviews called it that. It's an alternative rock album, regardless of what subgenre you would like to attribute it to.

And BTD was noted for its original sound, combining trip hop and baroque pop, which is a classic-sounding form of pop-rock.

I devote myself to both of them but being honest, Lana may be more artistic musically and Gaga thematically, Lana evolves in her sound while Gaga evolves in her album themes and isn't afraid of saying what she wants in your face. Both of them are artistic but if I had to choose one it would be Gaga.

People saying Gaga hasn't been artistic just because her latest album flopped are wrong. Gaga became more 'artistic' since The Fame Monster, The Fame was an EDM album in which she talked about partying and boys. It was a pop album, but afterwards she did more artistic stuff.

People saying Lana is staying in her own lane and doing the same Ultraviolence and BTD are completely different records. So what if the GP perceives her music as boring sometimes? A lot of critically acclaimed/artistic music is not appealing to pop audiences.

I can't really vote, I'm not sure what people mean with artistic...is it a synonym for acclaim? For risk taking? For staying true to art (music not the bling)? The answers would be tie, Gaga, Lana mostly, respectively then.

I feel like Gaga is "more" artistic, but I voted for Lana because she is A LOT more consistent and the quality is always good. Even UV, which is her worst IMO, isn't even bad, it's actually a very cohesive piece. Whereas Gaga is more all over the place.

Lana has evolved graciously in her 2 albums, she keeps the same concept but still evolves, BTD and UV are very different and many will agree with me. Gaga just gets lost in her own concepts most of the time, she is very artistic but no one gets her lately.
