A 1982 album with 43.2 million certs, and the only album in history to pass 50 million in sales, and then 60 million in sales. Adele's record sales are impressive, but will never touch Thriller's. I don't follow Adele's charts, but she had 24 weeks at #1 in the US. Thriller had 37.

Lol chart runs hey , not sales !.
And yes WW her chart run was better than thriller (you can see it in the receipts thread) . And it would also make sense don't you think?
-the album is biggest in a time when sales are lowest, so it can stay on the charts(even on top) for longer(and it has broken most number 1 in a number of coutries WW! )
-Also at the time of Thrillers release not that many countries had charts(moreso official charts) for that matter , so it couldn't be seen as to how long it was it initially charted.
The basis of your chart run argument seems to be on the US one and most weeks at number 1, when chart runs are about an albums staying power which Thriller did not have(comparitive to 21) a lot in many countries due to the competiitve nature of charts at the time of its release.
There's a actually a thread(topic) about this on another forum though I can't seem to remember which one
