How is it overproduced? There is no autotune, her vocals her in the purest form it can be, the music enhances her voice. I feel like the production is amazing, even on songs I dislike (like that basic ass I Forgive You)
I'm not talking about Katy over-production.
I'm talking about the faux/pseudo-seriousness production that buries all of the music on almost every song. Nothing sounds like it didn't go through about five different versions before it made it to the album.
P!nk and Kelly don't try to pander to the Critics like other artists do. They remain solid and are focused on delivering honest music. 90% of the time Critics focus on hype and let's be fair, neither one of these girls is hype anymore. Just pure artistry. They don't need over the top costumes or over the top dancing to get the power and the soul of their music out there. While I clearly Stan for Kelly, I have loved P!nk since Can't Take Me Home.
That is some stanning.
Who of all the pop girls is pandering to the critics? Pray tell.

Is that a bad thing though? Shouldn't music mean something even if it does give the impression of pseudo-seriousness (which correct me if I'm wrong, would refer to the "haunting" production of many of the tracks right?). I love hearing the various versions of Kelly's songs, so I can hear the progress made from demo, rough/cut to final product.
When I listen to a Kelly album, I know I'm listening to real emotions, real experiences. All of her music comes from her personal experiences and that of those she knows. I can relate to being in a toxic relationship where the love was unhealthy; I can relate to being afraid of truly opening up to someone for fear that they may not like what they really see. Her music resonates with me. I don't get that with every artist I love.
Hell I love Britney Spears but her music is about as deep as water on a teaspoon.
It would be realer if less effort went into it.
Take a listen to any of the most acclaimed albums of the year, and you'll see the difference between production and ... what's on Stronger.

Have you been avoiding Celebria? Have you seen ANY of the threads that DG1 has posted in the last fortnight?
I mean The New York Times, Slant, Pitchfork, The Guardian, The Independent, The LA Times.
Those lists.
I mean ...
But Stronger (the album) has only been released less then two months !!! All the other like Beyonce, Britney, Gaga, Adele had Q1 release !! And that's also why they are on top.
A lot of Kelly's material are growers. I'm fully convinced that 2012 you will be seeing a lot more of Kelly.
If (hopefully when) Stronger goes on to sell extremely well in 2012 and has several hit singles, all the pressed stans/critics knocking the album will be singing its praises. The same exact **** happened with Breakaway.
