In the past that sort of thing was quite common, where a song would get a "makeover" when it got released as a single, with different production, so it's probably happened a lot before (or would've done if iTunes existed at the time).
The Anna Kendrick song itself has different production to the original.

EHC is terrible. And that sloppy remix (basically the live version they showed at macy's 4th of july) is not much better. If the best songs from 'Red' do not get single treatment i will rage.
If this does anything overall AI wise and in terms of Itunes performance i will be thoroughly baffled.

The first week or 2 that it got considerate airplay in the UK, I was really liking it...Now I either turn the radio off, switch stations or just try and blank it out.
Taylor's label is always trying it with these remixes when the originals were just fine.

I think the tweet was something that Taylor felt wrong about robbing fans of more money and that she didn't even want to release a deluxe edition cause' it would mean costing fans more money or something like that.
