I think the praise when it comes to her Performance skills and Work Ethic. People over praise her music and "originality". Though honestly if you think about it, every big artist past and present has a few things that people overrate.
Peaks and valleys in level of interest is all part of the life cycle of a celebrity. Right now Bey is riding on a high. Usually when artists are at a high for as long as she has been, they are vulnerable to overexposure. If this life cycle didn't exist, Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey would still be the ones in charge. So, Bey's amazing PR team better know how to navigate the media lows.
Only a sadist would make a thread lile this. Beyonce has earned every iota of respect she gets. Maybe it's her good karma; she's not one to spew negativity like u or ur favs. Those that praise her are actually in her world whereas u make inferences based on blog posts, instagram posts, pap shots and tabloid articles.
OP i suggest u find some light in your life because a couple of cosigns from an atrl thread will not dim Beyonce's nor will it make yours or any other artist's brighter!
Some of these posts Im gonna assume u are trolling/being spiteful. It is atrl afterall but if u really believe what u r posting, Beyonce should be the least of your worries.
I honestly think Beyoncé is the easiest artist to stan for. Everyone except ATRL and some others music fan think she's basically perfect (and from what we can see, her image, she is). She's repected by everyone including big other artists. She's rich, beautiful, has a family and no controversy.
I don't know if all the praise she gets is deserved because I'm nobody to say that even though I do find her music overrated as well as her dancing skills.
We can't blame her though. Sometimes it's over the top because it looks like she's some Goddess but that's the way it is. We shouldn't care about that.
Don't get me wrong, I understand what her critics (and haters) are saying when they talk about her inflated celebrity status, good PR, not really knowing her personality too well and the fact that her handful of signature hits (IF you don't include Destiny's Child, which everyone should) is a bit smaller than the other girls.
But, like I said, all her praise comes from the fact that she's as talented as she is. Just take any live performance of hers...
What other pop girl is (or ever has been) basically a combination of Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson and Tina Turner?
Beyonce is "overly" praised (aka rightly praised) because of her talent, before anything else.
It seems that some members here believe that due to Beyonce's current success and status as a celebrity, her appeal transitions to acclaim and praise she receives from GP and her peers which is sometimes undeserved or lacking REAL validity. Whenever the media talks of Beyonce and their appreciation for her, it's either overrated or coming from a glorified beyhive member.. It seems as if today anything she does it praised to the heavens and it doesn't really sit well with many people, especially internet fans and other stanbases. Do you think the media have undoubtedly created a "superiority complex" for Bey, or are others insecure of her success/appeal. Is the praise deserved?? Are there others that deserve the acclaim more than Bey?? What are your thoughts..
I truly believe that. Like, from the bottom of my heart.
If you have a problem with someone being praised you just come off as pressed and bitter. Simple as that.
She gets the praise she deserves because she works hard and is very talanted.
What I dislike is that Beyonce should be praised for her godly vocals, dance skills (performance skills) and her music.
Because of the propaganda since 2011, people are not praising Beyonce for being talented etc. they are praising her for being "Beyonce" and for being the best couple with Jay Z and stuff like that That's annoying and you can clearly see that it's led by mass media.
"Beyonce is the coolest person on earth" "Beyonce and Jay Z are the coolest people on earth" So annoying and dumb
I used to think Bey was underrated before Self Titled dropped. Now I don't think she is overrated, as she is amazing, but the praise is just FAKE. They are ot praising her for the right things, it all seems so fake.. She was so low key before BEYONCE and now suddenly she is god.... there is something wrong with that, in my opinion

I kinda agree, although the praise for her concerts and the praise for the album and its impact was all about her talent and craft.
I think she deserves the praise. Only thing that bothers me is most of the time, it's very nonspecific as if people/the media can't articulate beyond "goddess Beyonce" type comments. While people are aware of her talent, her just being Beyonce makes people overlook why she's given praise to begin with (this sounds abstract but if you look out for it, you'll notice it.)
Bey's very first pregnancy was dragged throughout, it was called fake, attention whoring and everything before the sun. That pregnancy thing was so big that it would have ended some of your faves' career and drove some of your weak faves to insane depression.
Beyoncé is always presented as the girl who lacks any type of personality, any type of intelligence despite starting her own business, knowing how to manage her life intelligently.
Beyoncé's best performances are always criticized when your faves have to only give a 100th of that skill to be praised as "good" or "slaying".
Beyoncé's marriage has been called a sham, a fake union, a cheating mascarade by the media. They tried so hard and at all cost to either interject the navy's fave, Dame's wife and countless women to prove a point.
Let's not forget how quickly the SB's pics spread across the town, it was on CNN, on major news outlets. So were the pics of the l' Oréal photo shoot or the ridiculous rumors of her marriage. And yet, the media is soft on her? Wasn't she dragged across the servers in favor of Beck for something Kanye West said?
Or did we forget how her letter to the President's wife caused havoc and stayed the subject of every media outlet for more than 3 months? She was dragged as none of your faves have ever been? Or the DC's breakup? The whole Dreamgirls' movies? How she was ridiculed and mocked endlessly when her co-star got an Oscar like it took something away from her? For a whole year too!!! Your faves have never been dragged as much as Bey. Her BB's perf? The difference is that all through that Beyoncé still has her LOUD talent to fall back on.
And lol @ PR team, Bey's publicist is the worst publicist in the business. She is so bad that 10 years ago all her clients left, only Bey stayed because she has been around since she was a little girl.
She is so insanely talented. She is the best vocalist of her generation. The haters will ask you : "so what? Whitney and Barbara are better?"
She is an incredible dancer. The haters will tell you : "who cares? They are better dancers!".
She is stunning beyond words..."oh but there is somewhere in the world some woman more beautiful"
And then you have to wonder why they stan for who they stan for? Because most of their faves are not even good at something. Bey is at least excellent at most things. And instead of looking for people better than her at things where she excels at, some people who like effort and talent just take what she offers for an amazing gift, which it is.

She has created a larger-than-life persona / epitome of perfection and I think that's why she's always done so well at touring (even if you barely know her music, you have to see Beyoncé) and the media/gp is all over her.
I like her so I'm not mad at it.
This is very true
Shes creating the same larger than life image MJ did, and while thats okay (to each their own) it doesnt feel like everything happens fluently
But how is she creating that bigger than life persona? She hasn't have a sit down interview in more than 2 years, she barely promote her last album, comes to collect her awards and goes out when she wants. She feels bigger than life bigger she has that aura. Michael didn't create anything, there are some singers that have the ability to inspire more. Beyoncé is one of those, simple as that.
