It took me a while to get into this one
I feel like it's a very weak follow up to Strange Mercy
The first track is just audible diarrhea, and it doesn't really help anything
My favorite track on the alberm, and also one of her best songs, is Prince Johnny
I also really like Birth In Reverse, Psychopath and Severed Crossed Fingers
I think a lot of ATRLers over-hyped this record because they wanna give ~eclectic taste~, but to be completely honest, the album isn't all that. There are a handful of good songs, but it's nothing to cream your panties over.
I don't care about Nick Jonas's music
I just want his nudes
and I got pretty darn close this year with all the teases he gave us!
Nick might as well just sign with Randy Blue and call it a day, because just this year alone he's gone shirtless almost every chance he got, grabbed his B.A.D. for Flaunt Magazine, went on Ellen without pants, visited gay clubs and did a few (lackluster and with no cake-shots) sex scenes for TV.
A lot of people have dismissed Nick's liberation as pandering for sales and attention,
but whether that is or isn't the case, I am here for it. I love controversy and I love hot guys.
The fact that Nick gave me a two for one deal just makes life all the more worth living.
I did decide to give his album a listen (unlike other gays who just choked the chicken to his magazine spreads), and it wasn't half bad. I actually like the direction he's going in musically and I can't wait to see what else he has in store. Granted the album isn't a masterpiece, but it is a decent effort for an artist like Nick Jonas. If I had to score it, I'd give it a nice 7.6/10.
My favorite track at the moment, and the stand-out, is Santa Barbara.
Some of y'all might think it's boring, but I like it. It gives indie lite.
Teacher is also a bop. A nasty, funky 80s throwback.
I decided to get into BOOTS after receiving the slay that is Beyoncé's fifth solo album.
His mixtape isn't my favorite release of the year at all, but it's got some great material on it.
Atom is beautiful. Probably my favorite song.
Grand delusions of your name
Slip through me like cocaine
We waste it just the same
Like the leaves on the trees
The salt on the snow
Everyone around me will disappear
Oh I know, like the fog on the streets
The frog in my throat
Everyone, oh everyone around me would disappear...
Drop me like an atom bomb
Other faves are Howl, EST, My Heart Is A Stone Today (Unharmed) and Dreamsus (feat. Beyoncé).
One thing I didn't like about WSSF was the rapping. It works in some places, but not everywhere.
That's pretty much all I got to say on BOOTS.
I wanted to make sure I included him here, even if it was just briefly.
He's kinda low-key and doesn't have a lot of material out.
I'll be keeping an eye on him to see what the future has in store.
i thought i was the only one that remembered his slayage!!
St. Vincent's self titled is her opus Amazing amazing album (and that includes the flawless Rattlesnake).
Nick Jonas is interesting, I like his music low key and he is quiiiite sexy, omg.
Betty Who is a snoozefest.
I think just about everyone was disappointed with this song.
It was hyped up to be a phenomenal collab.
One that would be up there with songs like Enough Is Enough and The Boy Is Mine.
Instead we got Shaki and Rih having a goat calling competition over a surf n turf beat.
The song also performed poorly on the charts, despite their efforts to pander to the neckbeard community with a carpet munching session in the music video:
After a while the song kinda grew on me. I feel like it would've worked better as a solo Rihanna album track, since her verse is probably the best thing about the song. Let's hope #R8's lead single doesn't let us down like this one.
Upon hearing the single Tough Love, I was ready for the White Sade to bless my ears once again. It had been a while since the release of Devotion and I needed some new material.
I'm not crazy about the album. I don't have anything bad to say about it,
just that it's a bit boring and "same-ey" at times.
My favorite track at the moment is Say You Love Me
other faves are Pieces, You & I, Kind of...Sometimes...Maybe and Champagne Kisses
