Weren't most people racist against black people back then anyway? Also, his line of thinking when it comes to women pretty much lines up with what everybody thought about them at that time, so again, not really surprising. It doesn't take away from his work to incite peace and love though.
Articles like this always seem a bit sensationalist. People always have and always will be a product of their time. I'm sure even Martin Luther King had a couple opinions most modern day people would cringe over. It doesn't take away from their activism. Hell, I bet some of yall's grandparents were saying equally racist stuff just a few decades ago, let's not.
