I'm so tired of Black artists these days having "Pop singles" and "Urban singles". I miss the days when just ONE single used to cater to BOTH and still SMASH.

If the formats weren't so myopic then that might well be possible but they aren't. With some exceptions, pop won't spin R/B. Generally, R/B singles don't sell.
And as a fan you get more music, more videos etc. What's the problem?
