Don't say it's not. You said she was only successful in the UK, you are terribly wrong.
And yet the delusion continues. A mess.

I'm not even sure she was showing any sort of bravery by "being what the **** she wanted," either. Her life crumbled repeatedly in the public eye, and she didn't seem to have enough self-control to do anything differently.

I would argue it must take a lot of bravery to say "this is me, deal with it or **** off."
Do we need to link all of Gaga's forever changing accents and her bipolar episodes . As much as Gaga likes to think she has a ruthless attitude, she does not. She lies and cheats her way to remain at the top because she knows full well that her career would crumble if everyone knew she was a raging drug addict and the 'not so perfect' woman she portrays to be.

But Gaga did bring Music Videos, Avant Garde fashion, dance music, pop music, gay rights, Beyoncé, and bisexualty to the mainstream, so it's a bit hard to say.

I don't even need to say how delusional and ignorant you are.
The Beys will devour you in no time.

Nope. Amy was the first and biggest act to make it big from the BRIT School. Every other act that followed would always be compared to Amy or she would be in the same sentence. Google it

Yes, because if Adele had never said that, she wouldn't have been successful.

For me it's almost a tie, but I chose Gaga. She's obviously able to build on her impact, which Amy isn't anymore.
But really, Adele and all other soulful British artists have their success because Amy was paving the way.

But, I mean, we're talking about Lady Gaga. You can't even take what she says too seriously because she's a creation, an amalgam of everything that inspires Stefani Germanotta.

Oh, and I was mainly trying to point out that I'm not even sure it was as much of a conscious decision as it was a result of her drug problems.

2 millions in the US is good . Nothing big ... :S
Especially compared to the 10 millions which Adele will move soon .
If 2 M are big then what is 10 ?

Very well put. Literally sold her soul to the point of her fame and addiction overwhelming her.

Well, Michael is obviously a bigger artist than her, not to mention people are only trying to milk his name. Music videos is not compared with music in general, no one was doing what Amy did, yet several people were making similar music as Gaga before her. And you have to be delusional not to belive Amy paved the way to Adele, she only released her first album alongside Duffy and all these UK singers after BTB smashed. She's responsible for this type of sound being appealing to the general public and radios.
|
No, she really isn't. America was sick of dance-pop ruling the charts and latched on to Adele as a way to get away with it. Similar situation with We Are Young, and Somebody That I Used To Know. One does not simply make an album, and suddenly the general public loves that genre. Gorl

So you claim that Adele's succes which is times bigger than Amy's is solely due to Amy ..
That's ignorant and naive to say THE LEAST.

Everyone IGNORED my post about Gaga saying Amy opened doors for her and made it easier for her to find success. Besides Amy influencing Gaga and Adele >>>>>> Gaga influencing Ke$ha and Nicki Minaj.

I'm not saying this SPECIFIC QUOTE made her successful. I'm using it to back up the point that Amy opened up many doors for Adele. Adele has admitted the fact herself - it's not a fallacy.
