Exactly. I have no problem with JAY but this is too much.

I would hope not since P!nk is a Covergirl and they test on animals. If she did, it would make her a FRAUD and a HYPOCRITE.

But most people love Elephants. They are special creatures, they shouldn't be killed for ivory, I frankly think they shouldn't be killed point black.
And even if they are already dead, why use it to make ugly shoes? That's a real question.
Although most of the posters in here are hypocrites since it's no different that wearing furs (which most of our faves do, smthing I don't support), Elephants are kinda scarcer than dogs and cats.

I wouldn't mind if someone gives him and the producers of the shoes the same treatment as this lowlifes do with the elephants.

Trust, she is a supporter of PETA, and PETA are know as big hypocrites since they kill more animals yearly than most organisations. She already wrote some big essays before on the subject and she was already a cover girl at that time, if 'm not mistaken.

These animals were dead anyway, why the fumes @ Jay for using their skin?

There really isn't a difference, though. You can't ignore one animal's pain in favor of another just because the population of the former's species is larger.
Is the killing of an elephant for the sake of it's leather "right?" Probably not. But I don't think it's any different from genetically altering animals for human consumption, a practice that people generally ignore. People are only bitching because it's an elephant. At least they're using the skin and not just the tusks.

so you're saying it's okay for, example, a celebrity to start selling authentic tiger fur coats or some rapper showing off their leather interior Bentley made exclusively from anacondas? There is a difference. The species are near extinct and the fact that these people are taking advantage of that for profit in the name of 'fashion' or as I said, the "cool factor" just adds insult to injury.
It's not the fact that he/they used elephant skin, especially being that the material was taken in the most humane way, but it's moreso over the prospect of it being used for pure shock value. Elephant skin? On some damn sneakers? A bit much, but whatever. That's my take. I'm not too bothered, I just think everyone shouldn't be ready to fault all the protests so fast.
The industry and it's consumers like to go a bit senseless with the use of leather/fur, fact. But even if the material was taken in the most humane way possible, the general market don't really know all that at upfront/firsthand and so their first impression is to think that it's okay in any way. The reactions can be a bit much, but I'd see them as just innocent precaution.

No, I'm saying that killing animals PERIOD is not "okay." You could make an argument saying that you shouldn't kill an elephant because the species is close to extinction, but you can't ignore the pain that other animals go through, even if their species may not be close to extinction. I'm not saying the production of these shoes are right, but I just think it's funny how people pick and choose which animals they care about. But humans are like that.

Initially, I wasn't sure if by "there's no difference" you meant it was ALL okay or none of it was okay. I probably went with the former since it seemed majority here was arguing that instead. But I agree!

Better to be a hypocrite, than an animal killer!
P!nk is a PETA supporter. Trust me, she would not accept to be a Covergirl, if they do the testing on animals.

All these uninformed people in this thread passing judgement while attempting to act like their **** don't stink. The shoes are made from ALREADY DEAD ELEPHANTS. There is NOTHING inhumane, cruel, or disgusting about those rotting corpses being used to make shoes like these. Talk about doing the most. The THIRST never ceases. It's disgusting.
