I love Beyoncé but her and Britney shouldn't be in this particular race.

Adele and Gaga both have very good lyrics but I'm gonna give the edge to Gaga for her diverse topics.

You can write a whole album by yourself that doesn't mean the lyrics are good. Not saying that's the case in this situation.
Definitely Britney and Adele. Taylor Swift is too cringeworthy and I feel like her songwriting appeals to young teens. Not my cup of tea. Artpop and especially Applause makes me question Lady Gaga's songwriting abilities, but I'm sure she can bring it once again. Beyonce shouldn't even be included because we don't even know if most of her songwriting is even hers.
My guess is that they want to feel like their younger selves. I mean who doesn't want to feel like a kid again? Still her songwriting sounds like a teenager is writing it.
