HOW though? May I have an example of this "impact"?
It was literally everywhere when it was released, and it was the second best-selling song of 2010. I mean for sure Umbrella (the song) has made much more impact but denying Bad Romance's impact is just
Umbrella was bigger in 2007 than BR ever was, but I think that most people agree that Umbrella hasn't aged especially well. 5, 10, and 20 years from now people will remember and listen to BR as a bigger song (and video). Soo I think that means Bad Romance wins.

Really? Stations around here still play Umbrella often, maybe even more than Bad Romance, despite being released 5 years ago.
1. It made monosyllabic, repetitive hooks a thing, now everyone has them in pop songs
2. It mixed genres in a way that has been imitated, look at the music of Fun.'s latest album that combines pop melodies with rock instrumentals and heavy hip hop beats....it sounds a lot like Umbrella's production

Came straight from a GaGa stan. Umbrella indeed has had more of an impact during its prime and is still being praised. Bad Romance was big but the peak of Umbrella was higher. I mean the audience brings umbrellas to the damn concerts just to wave it in the air for one song towards the end of her set. IMPACT.
Umbrella. Bad Romance was big, but guys, be real now, it cannot be compared to the Umbrella's impact. Umbrella is still played everywhere, it is almost a classic. BR is forgotten.
