I understood this during the Pop, Disney phase. Her voice is very children & generic friendly to be completely honest. But with the new Rhythmic route even Normani is a better choice and she has the weakest voice.
Sounds great now. Probably will sound even better in HQ. It's in the same vein as Taylor Swift and Nick Jonas' latest 80's infused songs. If this is marketed properly, I can see them going Top 20 with this like Becky G's "Shower."
