The line-up has the same number of superstars that attended last year. Also these drags wouldn't be happening if people didn't put Beyoncé in a pedestal she doesn't belong. Same happened with self-titled album, everyone thought it was gonna sell 6m WW because the monster hype it had and it barely passed the half of it. This keeps happening often to her. Not gonna talk about her talent because she has it, but I do think her starpower is very very inflated.

Her star power was really proven by her album though. With minimal promo it sold more than Prism with maximum promo. That's star power. I don't remember those saying it would do 6 million though. Maybe based on the huge success it had people thought so I guess? But even that huge success shows star power.
The show did lack superstar performances. Katy and Miley just attended so they don't really count.
Compare this year's superstar performers (Beyonce, Taylor, Ariana, Nicki and we could add Usher to be fair) to last years (Gaga, Miley, Katy, Robin Thicke, Kanye, Justin, Bruno, and Drake) and you can see a huge difference.
