As a hybrid stan, I want to point out a few things. We're talking about "respect" here so there's no need to come into this thread with sales.

Bolded ones are Lana. Production and personality goes to both and I don't see how management is related with respect. Rest is Lorde.
Let's see. Even though Lana has improved in both of these over the past few years, Lorde has more mature lyrics and better vocals. The production on both of these girls albums are top quality. I think Lana has a better image, clothing and hair. She has been showing diversity in those areas. Although Lorde is more outspoken, both of these girls don't have bad personalities. Lana gained a solid fanbase for herself, we'll see how Lorde is still doing in couple of years. & Lastly, Lana's gimmicks might be better (for example; premiering music videos in cinemas).
Both of these ladies are respected and I don't see any reason to compare them. They're uprising stars and they're doing a very good job.
Also I think since is so young that its also another appeal
