Some people might be surprised that this song made it to my year-end list, but i do like it! Actually i like it a lot, my only problem with this comeback was the sudden concept change, it's not that i hate sexy concepts, but i just loved the old Hello Venus concept too much to accept the new one (this includes the new members, not a big fan of them either). I'll probably get used to that new concept but for now it's too much to digest. click here to hear the song!
Unexpected bop! Usually you expect top tier groups to serve good songs like this, but STELLAR went all out and proved that smaller groups can still deliver gems! Even tho their follow up "Mask" didn't make it to my top 50, i'm really looking foward to their next comeback, hope it's produced by Sweetune again! click here to hear the song!
1st out of 2 Girl's Day entries
After destroying everything with "Somesing", Girl's Day came back with this really cute summer song! It's catchy, it's funny, it's everything you would expect from them. I really like the song but it's just too basic compared to the masterpieces they released on the past 2 years. click here to hear the song!
Starting off the j-pop list, we have a korean girl! After releasing good singles like "Shout It Out" and "Call My Name/Message", BoA stepped up her game with "MASAYUME Chasing", it's probably my favourite song from her since "Only One"! It's really catchy, and she even raps on it. It's good to get some good japanese material from her again but i really hope she makes a korean comeback next year! click here to hear the song!
1st out of 2 Ariana Grande entries, 1st out of 2 Nicki Minaj entries
This one caught me really off guard, i'm not a big fan of Jessie J, her album was a bit meh. This song is an A+ bop! Also what really bugs me is that i prefeer Ariana and Nicki over Jessie, but in this song i really enjoy Jessie's parts more.
Not much to say about this one, it's a cute lead single but just not as strong as their previous ones. "Animals" was also a nice follow up single but i just didn't have time enough to get into it.
I wish Stellar went for a more conventional route when they promoted Marionette. If they weren't controversial for the sake of it they could have actually been successful since the song is great. Oh well.
