Lady Gaga has been THE gay icon since 2008 and will be until she dies. It's nice that Madonna was one in the 80's but the only connection she has with the gay community now is the sexy ones in the GGW video.
As for Adele, I haven't seen her create a charitable organisation for the gay community.. I haven't even seen her talk about the gay community in any interview. Anyone can write a song about water and label it a 'gay anthem'.
Being a gay icon has nothing to do with this. It has everything to do with how many gays look up to you, stan for you and love you... adele has more gay followers because obviously the older generation use her too, unlike gaga who mostly only has the young crowd!

no gurl, no. that twas a joke. Gays can relate to a song about heartbreak. But anyone can. Heteros can't relate to a song about being gay, though. Only gays can. I'm not pressed about Adele being a gay icon, I just don't agree with it.
Tbh monsters have a reason to be bothered. Our fave has repeatedely stood up for gay rights. Way more than any other 'gay icon' in the past.
