I'll agree half-heartedly with you, but in a sense I don't regret that she had the era, because she clearly wasn't happy with Disney. Might as well shed the image quick like ripping off a bandaid, with the added sting. But I genuinely think releasing Liberty Walk as the lead single would have affected the overall success drastically, because lines like "I always get a 10 'cause I'm built like that" weren't helping her ~spoiled brat image, and the public was not, and would never be here for it.
I think Miley regrets the era herself, but all of her current fans that I know, love the album and I know it appealed to at least some of the older pop audience.
"Two More Lonely People" had a very commercial, kid-friendly sound. If it had been the first single I think the album would have at least gone Gold and her music career wouldn't be in a terminal state.

Not with that "terminal state."
But I agree that Two More Lonely People had great appeal especially for her younger audience. It was going around in 2010 that it was going to be her 2nd single, and she was going to perform it at the TCAs but evidently nothing ever came of it.
I wouldn't say that.
Since she never wanted any sales and her promo was very small she hit #1 in many countries even though her music isn't that commercial.
That wasn't the problem, it was a good album.
The problem was her marriage with Pete Wentz & pregnancy (that caused the lack of promotion of that album)
The SNL incident isn't her worst mistake since the "I Am Me" era was pretty successful
Born This Way was a GREAT album which was very successful worldwide, but I agree that the singles choices were not the best at all. She didn't proclaim it to be the album of the decade, she just said it during the heat of the moment during a concert. If people still can't let that go, they're honestly just hating on her cause they don't like Gaga - and it shows. Don't make yourselves that obvious.
She did make a lot of mistakes with the songs however, but now that's all over. The tour should bounce her back to where she was, along with any new material this year.

Tbh, I think this is more on HR part then Mileys. CBT was full of potentially massive hits. With promo and the right single choices it could have been awesome.
