This is an unfortunate blow to madonna's next era but I get it. Radio is a business and businesses cannot support or push things that don't return a profit. Fact is, madonna simply is not relevant to this generation of teens and so playing her is just illogical for a radio station aimed at young people. I wouldn't consider this ageist simply because if she was relevant to this generation then they would play her no matter her age. Maybe it's time for a reinvention?

Exactly. If the artist is able to connect with the radio station's core audience, they would play them. I suppose madonna has been unable to connect to their core audience this time around. This has less to do with her age and more to do with her not being relevant.
