Oh my, never thought we'd agree on something.
That's what I keep on saying to the peeps thinking that because some singers managed to bounce back that Gaga will miraculously do it too, but that's not how it works.
If she doesn't put her pretentiousness aside and play the game it won't happen !

yeah, and if she plays the game people are gonna complain it doesn't smash cuz she sold out and she should remain true to herself
But you know what the scary thing is? I don't think she's ever going to change. I honestly cannot see her "playing the game" because she did that in the beginning and it did nothing but make her sad. She wants success, she doesn't like people bashing her, but she doesn't want to change what she thinks she is, and that kind of sucks for us? I mean, I don't give a **** about sales, but damn I would like to see her at least chart every now and then, and that's not gonna happen with songs like GUY.
Go on her Instagram and Facebook. Her most liked posts are of her being "conventionally pretty". People want that for her. People would be all over her if she just played the game for an era.

I'm in two minds.
On one hand, I agree with you that she'll refuse to compromise out of stubbornness, pride and integrity...but on the other, I feel she's so hungry for legendary status and validation that she'll do what she has to do (within reason).
It's weird because ARTPOP showed both sides of her in this regard. Both the willingness to play along after BTW...and her rebellion against those who try to control her.
Really just a question now whether she realises what position she's in, realistically what is to come if she continues, and ultimately what she will lose.
What concerns me is her lack of awareness and humility.

People will bitch regardless, but it's far easier to drown out those voices with success.
This is like Gaga's "Femme Fatale" and "4" era. Her next era could either be a Britney Jean or a BEYONCÉ, brace yourselves girls
Britney Jean unless she stops directing her own videos and fires her friends and hires a talented team again
And the music is part of the 'problem' (if you consider lesser chart success a problem). Her vocals/lyrics on this album are very polarizing and almost completely kill any hit potential of many songs that could've been huge (Applause verses, ARTPOP lyrics, Gypsy vocals and production, Dope vocals, Fashion! vocals, G.U.Y. production during the verses, Manicure vocals, etc).
It's like she's set on sabotaging her songs or something. Out of all her hit singles, the only one with 'weird'/'polarizing' vocals is Bad Romance. Her other hits all have conventional and pleasant and easy-to-listen-to poppy vocals
Ha biggest flaw, as stated, is clearly a lack of direction and self-awareness. She needs to get rid of this Midas-'everything I touch turns to art' mentality and this self-deprecating, defensive 'everyone's picking on me! They used to love me!'-attitude
I wouldn't give a damn if she opened with -32k in the US, just as long as the music was cohesive, inspired and intelligent.

You're so right
But don't come for Gypsy
I mean, I guess she'll try to fix her mistakes next time if she has learned anything. But that's also what we said about BTW
Either way, I still bop to her bad lyrics and off putting vocals/album. The tour gave me life, and she has helped me meet a lot of lifelong friends.
Like, this sounds like a mega smash, judging from the instrumental only
I don't get why Gaga don't release ballad songs, she want to release dance songs, maybe the GP will be back again and will respect her more if she release ballad/slow songs.
