I think Pitchfork has always kind of liked Taylor. So i think they spare the drama especially when the album contains several stabs at hipsters that makes up the majority of their readers.

In a way I'm kind of glad that they didn't. We wouldn't want her overall metacritic score to fall do we?

I think the main problem could be that she is still listed under country music. Country music is local=irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. How many country albums have they reviewed in the past? Not many, i bet.
