From all the old legends generation(Madonna, Janet, Mariah, Celine, Whitney), Janet is the most local. She's actually a non factor outside the US.

Before ATRL, I only knew Michael Jackson had a sister called Janet and that's it. Didn't even know she was one of the most successful female artists of all time in the US
No offense because I'm a huge Madonna fan but most of her 30+ stans that run her forums suck and are creepily obsessed. This isn't just a Madonna issue though, it's like this with anyone older on the Internet and don't know how to behave. See some of the older Mariah and Mary J Blige forums.
