Rihanna isn't "popular" anymore just because our generation has such a small attention span and is always focused on who is in the news and who is making moves right now. Rihanna isn't up there because she hasn't done anything recently. You're confused because historically Rihanna had an new album out every fall, but this time she's taking a little bit longer. When you're as well established as she is, you don't need to be constantly in the centre of the spotlight. Guarantee once this album drops, she'll be just as "popular" as she was before. It's weird to think that a few days ago we were all expecting to hear some new music today.
