This time when she said that she was trying new things she wasn't lying.
I'm really surprised by this album. I think it was because i wasn't expecting much especially after BJ.
She's experimenting with her sound and there's a lot of genres/styles in it. You can tell that her and her team really tried to make up for the tragedy that was that Myah mixtape.
For the 1st time since Blackout i actually notice some effort to do something different, to do something really good and it's so amazing. I remember that she said it was her best work in a long time and i totally agree with it.
I'll definitely support her this time. Sucks that the album will probably be underrated.
Already deleted What You Need, Private Show, and most of the deluxe tracks. Makes the album sound much better to me.. This is such a good effort on her part. Going to be listening for a while.
Invitation - 10/10, the best song on the album, lowkey godly.
Do You Wanna Come Over? - 8.5/10, an absolute bop.
Make Me... - 8/10, a good song but weird choice for a lead single.
Private Show - 9/10, ATRL does this song so wrong, it's a highlight for me.
Man On The Moon - 9.5/10, another standout track.
Just Luv Me - 8.5/10, a great song but I feel like it could've been a little better, don't ask me how
Clumsy - 6/10, kind of a wasted song, it had potential but it sounds like a demo.
Slumber Party - 8.5/10, similar to JLM, it's great but I feel it lacks something.
Just Like Me - 9/10, I love her vocals on this one, v. emotional.
Love Me Down - 7/10, cute but nothing special.
Hard To Forget Ya - 7/10, catchy but again it's nothing special.
What You Need - 6/10, it's not bad but once again it's nothing special.
Better - 7.5/10, the production could've been better on this one tbh.
Change Your Mind (No Seas Cortés) - 7.5/10, another cute bop that doesn't really go anywhere.
Liar - 8/10, finally another interesting song, love the production.
If I'm Dancing - 8/10, I love how Liar flows into this bop.
Coupure Électrique - 7.5/10, it's not bad but it's not amazing and is a terrible closer.
Overall: 7.9/10, I think that's a pretty fair average.
I think this'll be one of those albums where I play a couple of the songs constantly and the others just every few months. It's a cute collection of songs with no running theme (though sonically it's quite cohesive), but it's not like I was expecting a masterpiece. It's a solid pop album and i'm really proud of and happy for Britney.
