Rihanna barely makes money from albums due to her lack of writing credits.. you think she's going to risk losing even more money by putting it up on streaming before actual release?

I think she should keep do the normal physical/digital release. Put it on Spotify 2-4/week later and put it on Youtube about 2 months later.

i think she needs to work out a new deal with spotify. all these labels and artists are complaining about the money situation, let rih set the #newrules for how artists, writers, and labels get paid via spotify. it could start with her and then extend to the entire roc nation family. other labels would have to work out their own ****. it would be a big moment and a chance for spotify to solidify itself in the music landscape.

If Spotify wasn't that willing to bend rules for Taylor. Also even then Spotify can only pay soo much.. the amount they pay to artisr is pratically based on how many people join and how many people pay. Already 70% of the revenue goes to labels/artists etc.. anymore would make them bankrupt.

Also I don't think it's individual deal.. isn't it by label? I doubt Spotify would change their rules for Roc Nation... I mean besides Rihanna...

If anything.. She should put it up on streaming for PAYING customers and put it on Youtube and for everyone on streaming sites a month or two later. Like that the album would get a boost later.
