I wanted to do a review for this, because this and Paramore's self-titled are my favorite non-GaGa albums!
1. Pray You Catch Me: 10/10: So beautiful. The beginning made me worried, because of her pitchy vocals, but then the piano came in and I was snatched
2. Hold Up: 10/10: Super fun and catchy, reminds me of Countdown. Love it.
3. Don't Hurt Yourself: 10/10: This one slays so hard... the chorus is so edgy and I freaking LOVE it!
4. Sorry: 7/10: Ok, I know ya'll are gonna hate me for this, but I don't get the appeal with this one. It's good, don't get me wrong, but it's not great. Not really catchy, I honestly feel like people only like this for the "Becky with the good hair" line
I ain't sorry
5. 6 Inch: 10/10: Soooooo good! So catchy, and that one part where the beat drops slays so hard.
6. Daddy Lessons: 10/10: My personal favorite, I never though she would do country, but she not only did it, she did it better than most of the country singers today
7. Love Drought: 9/10: This one is great, but not as great as the rest. On any other album, this would get a 10/10, but it's got stiff competition.
8. Sandcastles: 10/10: Simply beautiful. That's all I can say.
9. Forward: 4/10: Sounds like a continuation of Sandcastles that is completely unnecessary
10. Freedom: 10/10: So good! Such a banger of a song, and I love the build up to the chorus.
11. All Night: 10/10: Such a wonderful way to end the album (I consider Formation an unnecessary addition tbh). The trumpets sound so good, and I personally love that because I'm a trumpet and piano player
12. Formation: 7/10: On its own, it's great, but as the official album closer, it irritates me, because AN was a perfect ending. It's like if a movie ended and then came back on. It just doesn't feel right
Overall: 89/100, my highest rated album thus far. Seriously great. I think it's a bit overrated on MC, but they're not far off. It seriously is her best work yet. I don't see how she can top it, but if she does...
all your faves' careers.
