Do you see people cheering when it gets a negative radio update? I don't. Instead we are being optimistic that the song isn't done. It isn't like we're saying "that +5 spin update is great!" We are saying "At least it's still gaining spins" There's a big difference between the 1st and 2nd quote.
As far as the iTunes position goes, I think its been going good considering the radio support lately. It has about 20 Million AI and was Top 20 on iTunes before promo and Top 30 before the video. Obviously, people like the song. I've actually heard people say "I hate Avril but her new song is great" the problem isn't people not feeling the song, it's most people haven't heard of it yet because of the lack of radio presence. That's why I'm (and others) are being optimistic.
There is a big difference between being "happy your fav is not doing so well" and being optimistic
Anyway, I still have hope it will pick up but if not, I hope she has a song that can save her in the U.S. She'll do decent in worst case scenario because of Japan anyway
