The fact that Taylor's albums sell so well is just another reason why every songwriter wants to collaborate with her. If you manage to co-write an album track, like Dan Wilson did with Treacherous, then even though that was not a single, you still get a small sum for every album sold. Considering that Taylor and Dan wrote Treacherous in a day, plus Dan produced it the next day. In the US you get $0.091 per track per album sold in mechanical royalties. For 2 co-writers that is obviously split in two between the 2 writers. That track alone netted Dan $182,000 + just for US mechanical royalties.

Dan also would have received lots of cash for Come Back, Be Here plus Treacherous (Demo) which are both on the Deluxe version of Red. I am not sure how many copies of the Deluxe version actually sold but Dan Wilson's mechanical royalties would still be a massive amount by any normal reckoning.

Of course the trick is to be good enough so that Taylor asks you to collaborate and then to produce a track in the end that is good enough to make the tracklist on the album.

In addition there are more financial benefits from having your name praised to 40 million people on twitter and your discography investigated by the Disciples.

I believe so. She said she worked on a song with her. The fact that she's hung out with Taylor recently makes me hopeful it will probably make the album.

I have no idea why Selena Gomez never got Taylor to write a song for her. Ingrid and Taylor may indeed have written a song together, but will it make the final album cut?

I would like Tay to collaborate with Jagger, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Shania Twain, U2, Bowie and Bob Dylan. JT and Sara Bareilles and Ellie Goulding would be more likely though. Tay could collab with Natalie Gaines from Dixie Chicks! Carly Simon would jump at the chance to work with Taylor!

I am starting to feel the anticipation for LP5. I've been trying to avoid thinking about it.
