Madonna has received criticism for almost her entire life. She's tough. So she's going to keep going until she doesn't want to. Jennifer Lopez is a media darling. She's had flops in films and in music, but she's never received harsh criticism. I mean,
harsh, constant criticism. Madonna has and still does. Lopez may be too soft to push through the immense backlash she will receive in a few years for "her image." Jennifer Lopez' advantage is that she knows how to dress at award shows and events (Madonna doesn't), and only turns up the sex in her videos and performances. Lopez separates the two universes, which helps the public separate the artist from the person. It's a basic PR tactic, but it's not as easy to pull off as it sounds.
