Do they have to SHOW each emotion? Like can I use a gif that is really goofy and will make you laugh, but you don't necessarily see the joy?

That's up to you two to decide how you distribute the work and everything. Your TEAM needs to submit 5 not each of you.

ALSO remember to do your best coz at EACH level you will win certain extra memory orbs if you're in the Top 4. And these will prove very useful later in the game.
