Imo ALEJANDO is not the kind of song that burns up iTunes, and I'm actually surprised it's even at #17 right now. MONSTER has greater hit-potential and youth appeal.

I can see it go top 5 on iTunes after a video and Idol (like TELEPHONE, which I always said wouldn't be a monster smash from the very getgo and got dissed for) but I have trouble seeing it hit #1 on iTunes, which is what defines "smashing."

Surely the fact that it is already number 17 on iTunes is a good sign then? I didn't expect it to be this high either, not so soon anyway. Alejandro was the better choice as a third single IMO, it keeps things fresh. Monster is a great song, but it's clearly a GaGa song, Alejandro allows for more versatility.

You never got dissed for saying Telephone wouldn't be a big smash, it was because you used to always point out that it was at a lower position then you expect it to be... And that was back in January when Bad Romance was still dominating the charts. I didn't expect Telephone to be number one, by the time the video was released beyoncefan1 was probably the only one expecting it to be a number 1 smash.

I don't expect Alejandro to be a number 1 smash, this is the third single off a multi-million selling album. If it can go top 5 then I'll be very happy, and that to me is a smash.

Actually, Alejandro is doing just fine considering it's position on Pop radio. I mean, Telephone was #1 on Pop but it was #20 in iTunes. That's when you predict that a video or a performance isn't going to help.

I mean, look at If We Ever Meet Again, it's #33 on Pop, but it's #28 (Was #22 before) on iTunes, with like, no promotion at all.

Radio never favours white people, so she is not likely to have a multiple format number one. Rude Boy was a pop song and yet it dominated across the board, it's hardly a coincidence...

Her first single from her third album will probably go to number 1. She's already had two, and Bad Romance was number 1 on iTunes for four weeks, it just didn't top the Hot 100.

Lets not forget the most anticipated song and video of the year "Telephone". Despite it being highly anticipated, the main format that was playing was pop radio. In order to get #1 you need a major crossover on most formats (i.e. Rude Boy #1 on pop, #1 on R&B radio, and #2 on urban).

Radio doesn't favor white people? Im not even gonna get into what a retarded statement that was. Secondly, Rude Boy appealed to all formats, none of gaga's songs except her #1 hits appealed to all formats. Its very unlikely for her to get a #1 especially with this dance sound getting a bit old.
