I'm growing to hate "Rude" a bit more every day (which stinks, because I really did use to like the song!), and your description of
Ultraviolence is why I've avoided listening to the album for so long, because I just KNOW I won't like the album the same way that I like "West Coast". As for "All of Me", well, you'll see how much we disagree on that tune shortly...though yeah, it's definitely not because of the lyrics.
Still, though, you don't even like "Ordinary People"?! That song is a masterpiece! It's even more powerful and poignant than it was ten years ago! I can't stop using exclamation points!
How can anyone like that song is something that's completely behind my comprehension.
Come on, at least it's different/more complex than most Pop music out there, and Lana's album has a Tales of Us-era Goldfrapp vibe I just love.
