Say You Love Me Jessie Ware 2013: When I Was Your Man - Bruno Mars Peak: #1 (x2) Weeks: still charting This was the first song I've heard from Jessie and I was pretty blown away, even though this sounds quite different from her usual stuff. It's more guitary but I think it's great. Plus, when the choir (featuring Ed Sheeran) comes in at the end, it feels like I'm being taken to heaven.

West Coast Lana Del Rey 2013: Wrecking Ball - Miley Cyrus Peak: #2 Weeks: 10 As a Lana fan, I was ecstatic when this came out and played it like crazy until I got bored of it by the time the album came out. The song is a progress in sound from Born to Die as it plays with a more alternative and psychedelic sound courtesy of Dan Auerbach, and a touch of reggae. It's an interesting piece, though when the tempo slows down in the chorus it might lose me a bit.

Shower Becky G 2013: Mirrors - Justin Timberlake Peak: #3 Weeks: 10 Okay I refused to listen to this song cuz I strongly believed in the Becky curse and I was certain it was gonna be a teenybopper song that I was not interested in. But it all broke when I heard it on radio by accident. I thought it was Iggy's Work when that strings in the intro starts. But all it took was that one listen for the curse to set in, and I was bopping to this since then. It's such a breezy, effortless pop song that is so fun and so carefree, like it's seriously the perfect pop song?!

3 7	Gunshot Lykke Li 2013: Heart Attack - Demi Lovato Peak: #7 Weeks: 14 This was an instant highlight of I Never Learn. It's the poppiest of the album. The best part of the song is that explosive chorus. It's quite catchy and basically very good. The video too is very interesting.

Smooth Sailing Queens of the Stone Age 2013: Come & Get It - Selena Gomez Peak: #5 Weeks: 8 In their album, this was the song that I fell in love with the most. I'm not one who appreciates heavy rock music, but I quite like the heavy guitar riffs, they pump me. But that is all irrelevant to the last part of the song, where everything just goes haywire and the song sounds ******* crazy. That's just THE BEST. Gives me chills tbh.

2 On (feat. Schoolboy Q) Tinashe 2013: I Love It (feat. Charli XCX) - Icona Pop Peak: #3 Weeks: 10 I was thinking this was gonna be one of those R&B/Hip-Hop songs that aren't right up my alley since those two genres aren't my cup of tea but I was so wrong. This is SUCH a bop. Thanks to recycled DJ Mustard beats, this song is perfect to get down on the dancefloor. Plus Tinashe is an amazing singer and dancer which makes this song so much more enjoyable.

Only Love Can Hurt Like This Paloma Faith 2013: Stay the Night (feat. Hayley Williams of Paramore) - Zedd Peak: #3 Weeks: 13 This song gets me going from the start, when the Motown drums and brass instruments kick in. This is such a wonderfully written and produced ballad and when Paloma goes up an octave on the chorus, chills run down my spine as the strings and background vocals swoosh in and create this epic finale.

Stay With Me Sam Smith 2013: Highway Don't Care (feat. Taylor Swift & Keith Urban) - Tim McGraw Peak: #4 Weeks: 11 One of the most unexpected hits of the year tbh. It's really refreshing when a brand new soulful voice takes over the radio airwaves with a soulful ballad. In this song, Sam's voice takes the centre stage, even when he's backed by a holy gospel choir. It's fragile at times, strong at times, but emotional always.

You're Not the One Sky Ferreira 2013: Work Bitch - Britney Spears Peak: #2 Weeks: 10 I know this song is 2013, but I only got into it at the end of 2013 after seeing it on everyone's Best Of. And I'm so glad I did and got into Sky. I really really love this whole grungey rock sound. That guitar riff is simply the best and when her vocals soar over them in the chorus, is magnificent. I don't think she's delving more into the grunge sound next album sadly.

Come With Me Now KONGOS 2013: Learn to Love Again - Lawson Peak: #10 Weeks: 15 This must be the sleepiest of all sleeper hits. It actually came out in 2011, 3 whole years before it became a hit in the US. This is a cool rock song with some African influences (they're actually a South African band, who would've known). Anyways this song just gets me really excited and I always wish I can shout "WHOA COME WITH NOW" with that gritty voice.

Sorry for not commenting last night, Mr.Link really broke my heart with his #1 song. I'm pretty sure you won't hurt my feelings coz Sia is not contending for that #1 spot anymore.

50-41: I really liked Summer when it was summer. Aside from this one though, his singles so far are quite underwhelming. Rather Be is the best EMD song of the year, it should be higher. Oh well, at least it made the list. Yas, the chorus of Tonight You're Perfect Something in the Water, the song is just holy, immaculate, ethereal, heavenly and all things positive. My Song is definitely weird but the good kind of weird. D

40-31: Say You Love Me would be in my top 10 ballads this year. Yes, it's really different from her usual stuff. I really liked West Coast when it first came out. I think it aged well. I still could listen to it until now but I was really bummed out when this won the album survivor here. Not Shower though being above West Coast and Say You Love Me. But I can't blame you though. 2 On is the best rnb jam this year. Drunk In Love can settle for second place. I really shouldn't have paid Only Love Can Hurt Like This. That ballad is so good. Stay With Me, probably the second most overrated song of the year next to Chandel-what. But at least, I kinda like this one. Come With Me Now, not 3 years though. Those Lykke Li and Sky Ferreira songs are good. I'm gonna listen to them more this year.
