16. OWL CITY & CARLY RAE JEPSEN- Good Time (49.12%)
The team up of Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen arrives at the #16 spot this year. This has to be one of my GV songs of 2012. Everytime I hear this on the radio, it never failed to make me smile. I am really hoping for these two to collaborate again this 2013.
Last year’s #16: ADELE- Rolling In The Deep
15. FOSTER THE PEOPLE- Houdini (49.54%)
They topped last year’s list with the epic “Pumped Up Kicks”, but this year their last entry, “Houdini” finishes at the #15 spot only. Still a decent position for them though. If there’s a favorite music video category on my awards this year, this is definitely the clear winner.
Last year’s #15: P!NK- F***kin' Perfect
14. CONOR MAYNARD f/ NE-YO- Turn Around (49.71%)
Conor appears for the final time with his collaboration with Ne-Yo. “Turn Around” is the type of song that never gets old to me. It’s just too good. Hopefully, this will be his first major hit in the US, because he deserves to have one.
Last year’s #14: PITBULL f/ NE-YO, AFROJACK & NAYER- Give Me Everything
^ I'm basing my top 150 singles on a point system. So everything you are seeing is tabulated. I actually wanted Houdini in the top 10 but the points were really not enough
British band, Lawson marks their final entry in the list with their third single from Chapman Square. “Standing In The Dark” is obviously a song intended for Mollie King (Andy’s ex). I really hope that this will be their breakout hit in my country (Philippines) so that a lot people will attend their first concert in three months time.
Last year’s #13: TAYLOR SWIFT- Back To December
12. CARLY RAE JEPSEN- Call Me Maybe (54.13%)
The big three radio stations here in the Philippines all hailed this as the #1 song of 2012. I think this pop culture staple will be remembered for a long time. Though, I must say that it’s a bit overrated, no can can deny the fact how catchy the song is. I hope she gets one more major hit from ‘Kiss’.
Last year’s #12: THE SCRIPT- Science And Faith
11. Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You) (55.86%)
Just missing the top 10 songs of the year, is the current best-selling track from any American Idol contestant. “Stronger” peaked at the summit of Billboard Hot 100 and my daily countdown last year. I’m also impressed by the longevity of this song in terms of its audience impression.
