Let's talk about this latest update.
#40: The support for Amy isn't surprising to me at all. Her voice is a stunner. Hell, I thought she would be higher. And GOD DAMMIT, Barry should be higher. ****.
#39: Two truly deserving singers. Roy's voice is one of those that is bound to give you chills at some point.
#38: Lauryn Hill could do/can do(?) just about everything, so I won't complain about her making the top 40. And listening to Frank sing is like listening to ten different personalities at once.
#37: I will say this: Tarja's voice is one of the most sonically powerful amongst female rock leads. It is a BOOMER. And Marc Anthony's voice is underrated. It's one of those voices that seemingly do not stand out, but there's a song featuring that voice that CONSTANTLY creeps into your thoughts because it's such a great vocal song. Case in point: "You Sang To Me".
#36: Selena had a good enough voice, though, admittedly, her voice is overrated a tad because of her early death. I refuse to acknowledge the other choice, especially when BOBBY WOMACK and BILL ****ING WITHERS did not make this list, but HE did.
#35: Oh, Vulps. *sigh*

Chaka deserves to be on this list tenfold.
#34: Fiona Apple has one of the most deceptively amazing voices. When she wants to belt, she can BELT. John Mayer, like Jason Mraz...meh.
#33: Carrie can belt out a good song, but madonnas summed up perfectly why I don't LOVE her voice. As for Bruno, I take it that we're not counting Cee-Lo as a "contemporary popular music male singer"? If we're not, I can buy your statement.
#32: I've never, ever been a fan of Shania's voice, and I'm definitely not a fan of her being above Carrie. Bob Marley's voice, on the other hand, transcended boundaries. There was something so ethereal, so REAL, about his voice and how he conveyed his emotions.
#31: Erykah could never hope to live up to Billie, so I'm glad that she went her own way. Not a big fan, but I understand why she's here...and there's no male. Alright then.
