FAVORITES:
❤❤❤❤❤ "Over the Love" (Florence+The Machine) ; "Young & Beautiful" (Lana del Rey) ; "A Little Party Never Killed Nobody (All We Got)" (Fergie, Q-Tip and GoonRock)
❤❤❤❤ "Bang Bang" (will.i.am) ; "Where the Wind Blows" (Coco O. of Quadron)
⚫ The only soundtrack to appear in my Albums list this year! Every single song has that "Gatsby" feel that is attached to the film. The calibre of artists chosen are top notch and phenomenal! Can't say the same about a few songs though. But from start to finish, for me, all of the artists here are definitely worthy of space in the tracklist. The albums has a balance of uptempos and slow songs too which are a must worthy listen
2009: Tata Young - "Ready for Love" 2011: Patrick Stump - "Soul Punk" 2012: Justin Bieber - "Believe"
⚫ As usual, P!nk saves the strong ballads for her 2nd singles and this one ain't an exception! The message encourages all listeners to not give up and continue trying amidst such hardships in the form of symbolism in particular with the "flame". Overall, the song is quite an anthem but the video is its strongest point! P!nk shows again how talented she is with such acrobatic moves on the interpretative dance choreography on the music video! More impressive is that she slayed this one too live both with vocals and choreo! Slay!
2009: Boys Like Girls- "Love Drunk" 2011: Nicola Roberts - "Lucky Day" 2012: Rebecca Ferguson - "Backtrack"

ONE REPUBLIC - "Counting Stars"
WEEKS ON CHART: 8 weeks (still charting) PEAK POSITION: #05
⚫ When I first heard this song! I wasn't totally amazed. It was just kinda there but the production/ delivery is great! When the song began having more buzz and climbing its way unto the top of the charts. I admit I relistened and by that time, I appreciated it more then! My favorite part off the song overall, is the bridge, I get so much life from that gospel like chanting! That part takes me to church tbh! Lol Now, all the success and praises are definitely deserved as the band got their most successful song since "Apologize".
2009: T.I. - "Live Your Life" (ft. Rihanna) 2011: Ke$ha - "We R Who We R" 2012: Jessie Ware - "110%"

NELLY FURTADO - "Waiting for the Night"
WEEKS ON CHART: 6 weeks PEAK POSITION: #02
⚫ One of the most single ready songs for her most underrated album! The harmonica instrumental gives me this song perfect for "Gypsy" dances and the video gives me that vibes too! While shot in black and white, the choreography is the main visual attraction as Nelly appears with a ghost/skeletal face paint. His father's voice appears on the end part of the song too! Just like its predecessor singles, this was another Top 2 hit in my Weekly Countdown!
2009: Jessie James - "I Look So Good Without You" 2011: Selena Gomez and the Scene - "Love You Like a Love Song" 2012: Foster the People -"Call It What You Want"
