Ooh good idea iHype! Lemme do that aswell!
Triumphant - while i was first listening to the song i was like "wait.. where is mariah??" that we had to wait 2 minutes and 42 seconds in the song for a mariah verse (practically just a bridge) on a mariah song had me LIVID... and like in my previous post the fact that she tried making it a lead (lbr, it wasn't a promo single b/c she was posting stuff like "the new era begins" prior to the release) also made me mad.. i think that song is alright now but 3 years ago i thought it was MEDIOCRE at best
Almost Home - i actually loved this song sooo much at first listen, it was just perfect and poppy and so refreshing from Triumphant haha.. the video i was like meh but it was expected since it was for a movie
#Beautiful - kii, the hype for this song was something else lol.. i wasn't hyped about the use of a # in the title but when she posted that tease on YT i was sooo excited.. then when it came out i was in school and i had no signal so i asked to go to the BR and ended up walking outside so i could purchase the song on itunes
i loved the song but hate how they had Miguel take the first verse, i still think the only reason why #B peaked so high is because of Miguel having the first verse, people probably though it was a Miguel song.. SIDENOTE: the #B era was the best she had looked since 2008, her looks back then were sooo underrated, especially the pink dress she wore on GMA, can't believe people were calling her fat around that time
The Art Of Letting Go - the teaser had me SOOOOO hype! then we got that mess that wasn't really anything special, i don't even know why she considered making it a single.. it had no airplay value, the only good part of that song is the end. Thank god it did not make the standard version of MIAM
You're Mine (Eternal) - i LOVE this song with a passion, right from when we got the LQ from the BET Honors (still pissed though because i live the DMV area and i could have easily gotten into the Warner Theatre for that event and could have FINALLY saw Mariah, but i wasn't aware the BET Honors were going to be in DC
) the You're Mine era was exciting aswell, we got alot of interviews and the MTV video premiere
(let us not forget the iconic breakfast club interview)
Thirsty - what we were all finally waiting for, SLAYED me
Sorry for this long ass post, just trying to make the time go faster
