Sure. Big the Cat was weird but at least it was something new for a platformer. He didn't have many levels anyway and if you got over the whole stigma of it, his levels were actually kind of fun.
The Sonic Adventure games were dynamic. They had really compelling stories and characters and had a lot of gameplay variety. Introducing old and new characters and having them play different roles to complete the story was fantastic. Not to mention the immerse (for its time) overworld and the endless side-games to play.
I stand by my point!
