I want a sexier, mature jojo.

While I agree with you guys and I think that Disaster was a safe choice, I think her and her label wanted something that they thought wouldn't be too much of a stretch for her because she has been gone for a while. She's trying to break out into the spotlight again as a brand new artist and Disaster is definitley her most mature single to date. I think they're going in the right direction.
Release something that isn't too different for her first so that way it's not like a HUGE difference from before. I'm pretty sure that she'll start releasing sexier songs. Bodyguard should be the next single. It's sexy, mature, different for her, upbeat and is not generic so it stands out.

It was actually in the top 40 for a good handful of days. But the song is far from finished. I guess it's right now at a point where it could take off and become a hit on radio and then JoJo/Interscope can start promo, or else it could fade. And honestly, I'm surprised it has made top 40 on radio tbh.
I agree that the song was too safe particularly considering people have moved on from that kind of inoffensive pop/ rock. But as CaliQueenSelena said, I guess they're just testing the waters as she has been gone for so long. It's better to come with a safer single and scope out how it does, than come with some overly edgy/risky single and wreck your image and era in one song (*cough* Miley)
I didn't bother to read all of those posts aobve but who ever think this single is dead is kinda, well, stupid.
If anything it seems it's getting back on track and being Top 40 now will only help.
Hopefully people will start requesting it more, esp' on the high ranked stations and it will start raising.
If the song is bouncing in the 800-700's on Overall iTunes Songs with less than 2m AI, imagine how it will raise with more and if it will start raising on AI like it should and she will do a high profile performance things will only get better from there.
I say, if it keeps on raising on Pop, send it to Rhythmic adds in a week or 2.

Yeah this single is FAR from dead. It's just starting!
